En nobel vilja (A noble will)

Om det nu skulle ha undgått någon delas årets Nobelpris ut idag i Stockholm och Oslo. Utöver de fem testamenterade prisen (i fysik, kemi, fysiologi eller medicin, litteratur och fred), delas sedan 1969 även Sveriges Riksbanks pris i ekonomisk vetenskap till Alfred Nobels minne ut. Valet av datum då priserna delas ut är ämnade att hedra Nobels dödsdag, 10 december 1896. Vart femte år delas även Förenta nationernas pris för mänskliga rättigheter ut, något som dock inte sker i år utan om ett år. Organisationen har dock avsatt datumet till Dagen för mänskliga rättigheter varje år.

If someone has missed it, today is the day for the annual award ceremonies for the Nobel Prizes in Stockholm and Oslo. In addition to the five prizes stipulated in the will (in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and peace), the Swedish Riksbank also awards a Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel since 1969. The award date is the anniversary of Nobel's death in 1896. Every fifth year, the United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights is awarded, though not this year but next time in 2008. The organization have, however, made December 10 Human Rights Day.
