Under det Internationella geofysikåret 1957-58 genomförde en sovjetisk expedition en resa till en dittills "omöjlig" plats, den punkt på kontinenten Antarktis som ligger längst ifrån kusten. Knappt 50 år senare upprepades denna bragd av en brittisk/kanadensisk trupp, teamn2i, och på denna plats lyckades de hitta den "röda" mannen som lämnades kvar gången innan - Lenin!
