Landets frimärken hedrar några av världens ledare, däribland Churchill, i olika valörer av landets valuta. Andra namn som spelat stor roll i landets historia är Ford, Buchanan och Lady Bird. Landets president valdes enhälligt i valet 196_, där skillnaden att ha och inte ha rösträtt sägs ha utdelats av den valda presidenten själv! Säga vad man vill om såväl ABBAs musik som Pierce Brosnans sångkunskaper, men det är lätt att ryckas med i tonerna från förr. I filmen postar huvudpersonen Sophie tre brev, varav ett har det frimärke som visades i frågans bild. Senare träffar Sophie sina möjliga fäder, tre till antalet, på den svenskflaggade segelbåten Fernando. Båtens namn i filmen knyts till ABBA genom den sång som gruppen framförde på engelska och som dessförinnan sjungits in av Frida på svenska. Nobody can have missed the latest world-encompassing ABBA revival in the wake of the movie Mamma Mia!, which is based on the musical with the same name. No matter what one thinks of the ABBA sound or even Pierce Brosnans singing skills, it is easy to find oneself tapping along in the simple but intriguing rhythm of the past. In the movie the main character Sophie mails three letter, of which one has the postage stamps shown in the question. Later, Sophie meets her possible fathers, all three of them, on the Swedish-flaggingp yacht Fernando. The name of the boat in the movie is, just like everything else, tightly linked to ABBA through the song the iconic group performed in English, and had previously been released by Frida in Swedish. Detta frimärke med ortodoxt motiv här nedan har du säkert sett, även om affischernas juldekorationer är i vägen. Det skickades samtidigt som fyra andra frimärken av ungefär samma billiga valör, har ryktet visst spritts. Huruvida avsändaren är så smart kan ifrågasättas med tanke på de felaktiga adresserna, men rätt brev kom hursomhelst fram till rätt ”patriark”. Dessa patriarker och avsändaren samlades efter en tid på samma plats, döpt efter en gitarrist och revolutionshjälte(?), inte långt från det plats breven skickades. Vad heter gitarristen (åtta bokstäver)?









You have probably seen this stamp with its Orthodox motif already, even though the billboard X-Mas tree decorations are covering it. Rumour has it that it was sent at the same time with four other stamps of roughly the same cheap face value. Whether the sender is all that bright can be questioned given the erroneous addresses, but each letter reached the its intended ”patriarch”. These patriarchs and the sender gathered after some time on the same place, named after a guitarist and revolutionary hero(?), not far from the spot the letters were mailed. What is the name of the guitarist (eight letters)?

When Finland was officially separated from Sweden in the beginning of the 19th Century, a set of rigid points along the new border was needed. Inger förtroende gör Posten tydligen ändå om man får tro den senaste mätningen på Svenskt Kvalitetsindex, men vem vet om lyckan blir kort? Än återstår knappa två veckor till inlämningen i Klurendrejeriet® 2008, men det börjar kanske ändå bli dags att åtminstone förbereda den (tävlingsbidraget måste vara poststämplat senast 20 januari 2008 och framme senast 22 januari 2008). Detta råd är värt att följa - i alla fall om man skickar in den från Rhodos.

A postcard mailed by a still unknown woman called Inger on vacation on Rhodes has finally reached its destination - Café Mörten in Södertälje, south of Stockholm - after has been on its way for more than 25 years. Nevertheless, the Swedish Postal Service still ranks high in the latest poll by the Swedish partner of EPSI Rating, SKI, but no one can tell if this will last. As for Klurendrejeriet® 2008, there is still almost two weeks until your answer must have reached us (deadline: January 22, 2008), but it may be a good idea to start preparing the answer sheet. At least if you plan to send it from Rhodes.

Posten får Pippi (Monkey business)

Vi har tidigare klargjort för Klurbloggens utländska läsare att Pippi Långstrump är en av de allra mest kända svenskarna. Att hon sedan visar sig vara påhittad spelar ju inte någon större roll, eller hur? Nu har Posten tillkännagett att de ger ut henne som årets julfrimärke på rulle, vilket borde göra att Pippi blir (om möjligt) ännu mera internationellt känd! Bland blockfrimärkena som ges ut i samma utgåva kan julbilder från Lotta på Bråkmakargatan och Madicken beskådas, samtidigt som hundraårsminnet av Astrid Lindgrens födelse firas med ett samutgåva med det tyska postverket Deutsche Post. Kommer månne de tyska svaren i Klurendrejeriet® 2008 att frankeras med dessa?






Lost and found: Pippi Longstocking
and Magilla Gorilla ...?

We have previously stated here on Klurbloggen that Pippi Longstocking is one of the most famous Swedes. The fact that she is made up does not matter, right? Today, Swedish Posten has officially announced that they will issue a picture of her as this year's holiday season stamp (on roll), which ought to make Pippi even more internationally recoginzed (if at all possible). On the block of four that is issued simultaneously wintery pictures from Lotta on Troublemaker Street and Meg of June Hill can be seen, and at the same time the 100th anniversary of the birth of Astrid Lindgren is celebrated by Posten with a commemorative stamp co-issued with the German counterpart Deutsche Post. Will these be used to pay the postage fee for the German submissions in Klurendrejeriet® 2008?
