Den mest berömda namngivna kuben i världen torde nog vara Rubiks kub, som såldes i över 100 miljoner exemplar i början av 1980-talet. Även om det fanns liknande modeller när Rubik Ernő patenterade sin idé, var det just hans version som blev den ledande produkten. För er som inte minns, gällde det att samla rutorna med samma färg på var och en av kubens sex sidor. Det har nyligen bevisats att det räcker med 26 drag oavsett utgångsposition. Det finns både större och mindre varianter av denna leksak, men den ursprungliga 3x3x3-varianten är nog den som folk kommer ihåg.

Even though there were other similar models when Rubik Ernő patented his idea, it was his version that turned out to be the leading product. For those of you who do not remember, one had to gather the squares with the same colour on each of the cube's six faces. It has recently been shown that one does need no more than 26 moves regardless of starting position to complete this task. There are both smaller and larger versions of this toy, but it is the original 3x3x3-type that people remember.
